Evernote has now developed a Chinese version of their product called Yinxiang Biji that provides more tailored service for their Chinese audiences since May this year. Experiencing strong growth, the company has take to social media to recruit additional team members to the Yinxiang Biji team. Specifically, they developed a short video clip and uploaded it to the Chinese social video platform - Youku. Ultimately, this video drew so much attention that more than 2,000 resumes were sent through to the company. This is a perfect example of how social media is transforming Chinese society.

Lately, a Singapore-based company Bubbly Motion has raised USD$5 million and put Bubbly forward in Asia and the U.S. continents. In addition, it allows you to store and transfer the videos to iOS devices for sharing on social networking sites. This type of technology is critical if traditional cameras are to compete with the increasing photo quality on smartphones.

GlobalWebIndex's Q2 2012 data shows that Facebook is ranked first among other social platforms in Asia Pacific region, such as Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. In terms of the number of active users against the total number of Facebook account holders, there are six countries that currently have 75% or more active Facebook users, including Indonesia (82%), Philippines (81%), Thailand (78%), Malaysia (76%), Taiwan (75%), Vietnam (75%). Current trends show extensive growth for Google+ and Twitter in the region as well, and it will be very interesting to see how usage of these social platforms change over the coming months.
