When we asked players of a range of gaming franchises what they want their favorite brands to provide, we saw some common themes emerge.

Despite differences in genre and platform, one of the strongest recurring over-indexes across players of different franchises is their desire to have a say in the finished product. Indeed, as many as a fifth of Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto players say they want to be able to customize or personalize products. A strong sense of community also shines through, with the desire to connect with other fans of the brand being a universally strong over-index too.

We do see slightly different indexes among the typically “casual” mobile gamer audience of Clash of Clan players. The opportunity to contribute ideas to initial product design is much more important to these gamers.
